Position Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Chief Justice & Associates Justices

The Chief Justice is the head of the entire criminal justice system in San Andreas and is responsible for overseeing the entire division and its operations.

Division Heads

Each of the three divisions (Prosecution, Defense, and Judicial) will have an assigned head to oversee that division. The division chiefs shall be the first points of contact within SAJD COC and will be able to handle the requests and concerns of the general membership. It is also the responsibility of the division chiefs to enforce activity and discipline within their respective divisions. The rank of division chief is the first rank within SAJD COC.

Superior Court Judge

A Superior Court Judge is a state official trusted with handling, overseeing, and providing a verdict for various misdemeanor and felony trials. In any given trial, the judge is the figure of authority in the courtroom, and every person involved in the said trial shall abide by the word of that case’s assigned SCJ. Additionally, a case’s assigned SCJ must ensure jury compliance with courtroom procedures. Furthermore, they are the first Judge in the appeals court, unless the case originated from their circuit.

State Magistrate Judge

A State Magistrate Judge is a state official trusted with handling, overseeing, and providing a verdict for various misdemeanor and felony trials. In any given trial, the judge is the figure of authority in the courtroom, and every person involved in the said trial shall abide by the word of that case’s assigned SMJ. A State Magistrate Judge is a state official trusted with handling, accepting, denying, and managing official Search and Arrest Warrants.

State Attorney's Office & Public Defender's Office

Attorneys make up the backbone of SAJD. Attorneys are members of the division who are free to handle cases by themselves and have undergone proper training to ensure their knowledge and proficiencies. Attorneys will only be eligible to be certified in one division, but, if promoted, will have the opportunity to cross-certify.
