Last updated 1 month ago

This page contains rulings that affect future cases within the Justice Department. Summaries will include the Judge assigned, verdict, and precedent set by the case.

OOC: Not every US Case Law is recognized within MidwestRP. This is to make it easier for LEOs and Civilians not to need to know every case law ever created. However, every member, LEO or Civilian, is responsible for knowing when a case law is added and recognized by the community.

EXAMPLE: San Andreas vs. John Reeves (SA20241116-C1)

State Magistrate Judge Harold Callahan

This is an example of a case precedent, SA v. John Reeves did not establish any precedent for future cases, but future outcomes will be formatted accordingly.

San Andreas vs. Sam Thunderhawk

Associate Justice Mathias Jackson IV

This case established citizens of San Andreas are hereby granted the right to defend themselves and/or their dwellings when confronted with imminent and life-threatening situations.

See for more information.

San Andreas vs. Vito Mariano (SA20250107-C1)

Chief Judge Jake Beralta

This case established interpretation of Possession of Controlled Substance more thoroughly as the jury ruled GUILTY besides the defendant's argument of unintentional intoxication & possession.

San Andreas vs. Doug Dimmadome (SA20241226-C1)

Magistrate Judge Stewart Houston

This case established by Jury trial that Proof of Ownership is required in cases of Grand Theft Automobile, under §200.08. An unregistered, local vehicle, is presumed stolen unless proven to be owned through registration, bill of sale, or other documentation.
